Alabama Braves Finishes off Dream Season

The Albama Braves are the 2005 BYOF World Series Champions for the 2nd time in the last three years. They defeated the NL Champion Huntsville Hardballers in a classic six game series. This World Series had the two best teams in each league playing. Congratultions to both Chris and Colby on a great year.

Huntsville takes a 1-0 lead in series by scoring four runs off Randy Johnson and three more off the Albama bullpen. Santana got the win and Figgins was the hitting star going 3-4 with an RBI.

Huntsville takes a commanding 2-0 lead in the series beating Albama at home 9-2. Mulder got the win pitching 6 innings and striking out 9. Oswalt took the loss giving up 6 runs. The Huntsville hitting stars were Abreu and Pujols who combined drove in 6 runs.

Alabama on verge of being knocked out of the series edges out a close 6-5 win. Huntsville took a 5-3 lead into the top of the 8th but Tom Gordon and the bullpen could not hold it giving up 3 runs.

Alabama evened the series at two a piece with a 4-1 win. Randy Johnson redeemed himself from Game 1 pitching 7 innings of shutout ball. Mike Gonzalez picked up his first save of the series.

The Braves win three straight in the series and take a 3-2 lead. This was not a game for pitching as both Hudson and Santana give up 6 runs each. With the game 6-6 the Braves score twice in the top of the 8th and Billy Wagner pitches two innings of shutout ball for his first save.

Alabama clinches their 2nd World Series in three years with a 4-3 win. Huntsville took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the 8th. Once again Tom Gordon the Hunstville bullpen lets them down. Ortiz lead off the inning with a HR and Andruw Jones would reach 1st on a throwing error by Hillenbrand. Jones would score later on a Luis Castillo game winning single.
