Redstone - Eleven AL pitchers combine on a 3-hit shutout. The A.L scores in the top of the 1st on a 2 out Fielder triple, then scored on a Carlos Guillen error. But the drama of the game happened in the 5th, Dustin McGowan gave up a lead-off single to Ordonez. Ordonez stole 2nd and moved to 3rd on a Johjima error. With infield in, McGowan got Rios to ground to short and Ramirez was able to hold Ordonez at 3rd. Heath Bell replaced McGowan and intentionally walked Ichiro, then got pinch-hitter Posada to ground into a DP. After that, it was smooth sailing for the AL pitchers.

Amazingly, this game had no RBIs,no earned runs, no regular walks (one IBB, 2 HBP), and only 7 hits combined and no player had multiple hits with Fielder being the only player to reach base twice.

Every AL player made the game with only Abreu not getting an AB among hitters. 26 of the 30 players for the NL played.
